Colorado Karate Club dojo

Our story

Colorado Karate Club was founded in 2005 by Sensei Willy Strohmeier in Brighton, Colorado. In 2020 we expanded to a second location in Westminster. Our mission has never changed: preserving and teaching the traditional principles of Shotokan Karate-Do. CKC isn’t just a training facility — it’s a community rooted in the timeless values of discipline, respect, focus, and self-confidence, forged through rigorous, honest training.

Traditional Shotokan lineage from Lima, Peru

Colorado Karate Club’s heritage traces to Lima, Peru through Sensei Luis Chiock Wong, who trained Sensei Willy beginning around 1977–78. Sensei Chiock competed on Peru’s National Team in the 1960s–70s (including the 1973 Pan-American Championship in Brazil) and later coached Peru’s National Team to success at the 1986 WUKO World Championships in Sydney. That lineage — real Shotokan Karate-Do, taught properly — is what we teach at CKC.
